About Ahmedabad, Ahmedabad is a magnificent, rapidly transforming, and the largest city of the state of Gujarat. It is an education hotspot, an epicenter of information and technology and industries. Globally, content writing is one of the most in-demand jobs today.

The same holds good in Ahmedabad as well. In this listicle, we explore the top 5 content writing training institutes in Ahmedabad.

Content Writing is an industry with a vast array of writing types. Sure, it is the most alluring career for many right now, but it is incredibly competitive out there. From the press release, feature writers, bloggers, social media writers, so on and so forth, the list is extensive.

A general content writer requires no specific degree. But certain types of content writing require specializations and particular degrees. Some of these are:

  • Advertising copywriter.
  • Technical writer.
  • Academic writer.
  • Medical writer, etc.

In general, content writers are creative enough and handle most types of content writing. But for those aspiring to be niche content writers in any particular niche, an in-depth and thorough understanding is in order.

We will go through the job profile and prospects of one of the most exciting types of content writing today, the advertising copywriter.

What is copywriting?

Advertising has transformed with the changing times. From just printed ads, postcards, radio ads, TV ads, to advertisements on the online platforms. For businesses not leveraging advertising online, they are definitely behind the curve.

Advertising copywriting is primarily written content with the visual component of the advertisement. The goal, as with all marketing goals, is to sell a product/service, create and increase brand awareness.

Copywriting is of paramount importance in any form of marketing/advertising. In simple words, it is fabricating content to sell a product/service. The content thus is written is the sales copy. A sales copy/copywriting persuades consumers to buy the product/service.

As per the American Writers & Artists Inc note:

“Copy is everywhere-it’s part of a $2.3 trillion industry worldwide.”

Are you wondering about what is the distinction between content writing and copywriting?

Content writing delivers valuable information on a product or service subtly; whereas, copywriting has no subtlety in its approach. It is a direct marketing pitch with the only aim of grabbing the attention of the consumers and enticing them into buying the product/service.

What does a copywriter do in advertising?

All products and services require advertisements for awareness of the brand and then the promotion of the brand. Copywriters are the brains behind the content creation on any promotional materials such as brochures, billboards, websites, emails, catalogs, digital and TV advertisements, etc.

Copywriting, advertising, and marketing work together in close tandem. They are interdependent elements that determine the success of a product/service. Also, in the digital marketing realm, content marketing, SEO, and design are all a part of the digital marketing plan, with copywriting holding it all together.

In copywriting, every word matters. The copywriter does not have the luxury like a content writer to spin stories to deliver facts and make people take action. Instead, copywriting is about getting people to think, feel, and positively respond with just a few words.

How to become an advertiser copywriter? What skills do you need?

In an oversaturated market, a copywriter should possess skills to make the copy unique, creative, and crafty. True, copywriting is a more fun job but undeniably more hard work requiring thinking out of the box.

What then are the skills that make for a good advertising copywriter? There are skills, and then there are tips to make the copy crisp.

Some characteristic attributes and tips of good copywriting are:

  • Unique and attention-grabbing headlines. Yet, the headlines should be specific, convey a sense of urgency, and pique the interest of the consumers to read more. We are talking about headlines that make you want to read, what next? In copywriting, each word has careful thought and placement, such that the reader wants to learn more. Thus, if the headline cannot enthrall the target audience, it is a lost cause.

  • Persuasive writing. Writing thought-provoking content, that changes your perspective, shows you a different angle, is winning half the battle of a copywriter. Great copywriters tap on the connection that the consumers can have with the product/service. They emphasize benefits over the features of the product/service. Most great copywriters incite emotions that drive positive responses. How do you do that? Only by thinking from the consumer’s point of view. Another way to do that is to listen. Listening to the consumers with an attentive ear gives a lot of insight into what the people expect. It is then so much easier to provide solutions.

  • Call-to-actions that make people respond. Having written about the product benefits and features, a strong call-to-action making the consumers take action such as subscribing or buying the product/service is integral.

  • Social proof. Leveraging social proof is an excellent way to get the audience/consumers to trust your brand. Be it ratings, feedbacks, subscriber counts, followers, or clients; a real list helps garner better leads and conversions. It is a form of persuasion, a way to goad the consumers into taking action.

  • Writing tips for copywriters: A good copywriter writes with emotion, finding depth even in the prosaic. Write with brevity, clarity, honesty, and, last but not least, a unique style. Avoid jargon, beating around the point with unnecessary fluff and hyperbole.

Career prospects and salary for advertising copywriting:

Professional copywriters are in demand and will continue to be in high demand. In reality, copywriters are some of the highest-paid among various types of content writers. So, even if you decide to be a part-time copywriter or a freelance copywriter, you can be sure of an excellent income.

Though there is an inundation of copywriters in the market, there is also a constant influx of new products/services, thus creating an ever-increasing demand for good copywriters. So, up-skill yourself; there is plenty of room for all in this ever-expanding advertising industry.

As with all forms of content writing, copywriting also requires some training and learning. While any graduate can become a content writer, for copywriting, a degree in journalism, mass media, and communications, or advertising is preferable. Many colleges today offer degree programs with a specialization in advertising.

Further, if someone has a flair for creative writing and a good command over the language, certification courses with internships, as with content writing, are good to get started.

Coming to the salary prospects, as per Glassdoor, the average copywriter base pay in India is 439,000/year. Senior copywriter base pay is about 680,00/year.

For those aspiring to become copywriters, you now have a fair idea of the job profile, the roles and duties, and the eligibility and salary as well.

CONCLUDING THOUGHTS:

Content writing is not a career that demands high qualifications or specializations. Of course, initially thought to be a profession of the highly-educated, it no longer holds ground. Any graduate with a good command over language and necessary internet skills can become a content writer.

Becoming a good content writer is a mix of inherent and acquired, a natural way with words and acquired skills to meet industry standards. Since most content is on the digital platform today, it warrants some training and learning. A good training program will impart:

  • Basic understanding of websites.
  • SEO, and it’s working.
  • Keywords and their optimization.
  • Importance of proofreading and editing.
  • Using various standard tools to create content.
  • Role of social media in content marketing.
  • Distribution of content through various modes such as email and also automation in sharing content.

Another essential factor to consider is the internship opportunity. Content writing training institutes that provide internships are more likely to provide hands-on training and guidance to the trainees. Working on live projects gives a whole new dimension that boosts the confidence of the trainees.

Finally, with practice and hard work, nothing is impossible. Anyone, with diligence and perseverance, can ace the content writing career. But there is a need for constant up-gradation of skills.

To be relevant, you need to be aware of changing trends in the industry and adapt in accordance. To increase employability, you need to stay ahead of the game and keep yourself in a learning mode at all times. As far as the opportunities, the sky is truly the limit.

I had a great time reading your article. You have noted the important points, which made it easier to understand. The distinction you made between copywriting and content writing was very helpful. As a starter, lots of people get confused between these two. I want to ask, are there internships available at the aforementioned institutes? And could you give me information about the course fee? Regardless this article contained useful information and is well written. Thank you.

Good evening sir. I work at FCI. So often I have to travel around. So it’s not always convenient to attend the classes using my laptop. Can I also attend the classes using my mobile phone? Or will there be disadvantages?

Hello. Sir, I have completed my bachelors in geography from the AET college from Bangalore. I plan to complete my masters too, but I was hoping and also quite interested to explore other fields of study. I have read a lot about content writing. It’s been a hot topic nowadays. I have read about all these institutes and after researching, I wish to enroll at IIMSkills. I want to start working, even if it’s part-time as a content writer before settling in a better job. I am form Ahmedabad, but I am currently situated at Bangalore for my studies. Would it be a problem if I enroll at the Ahmedabad institute? Since this is an online course I don’t think it would be a problem. But can you please guide me. Also, it would be great if you could tell me about the job opportunities I may think of applying for after this course.

Hello sir. Myself Jasvinder. I have read the curriculum for IIMSkills and I believe it’s a wonderful curriculum. But I can’t help but think that the writing course is a bit too practical. It’s really necessary to learn all the other stuff if you’re going for a job, and that’s also the very reason why I want to enroll at this institute, but at the same time, I want to improve my writing. So should I perhaps join a course for writing before I opt for this? I work in HDFC. Out of curiosity, I read this article, but I must say, the way it was written it made me interested in learning more. But I’m afraid I won’t be able to write high quality articles. Or does your institute perhaps provide a separate writing course perhaps?

Content writing is a flourishing course and I believe it will be more demanded course in the years to come. Every marketer is in need of content writers to market their product in social media. In turn students are more drawn to this course for its immense potential in the job field. The most alluring thing is; anyone can join this course. I have been a content writer for the past 15 years working at TATA Consultancy. During that time people preferred classroom lessons and there weren’t as many institutes that offered training in this field. Now there are so many institutes to choose from that people become confused. I enjoyed going through the list of institutes offering this course in Ahmedabad. I encourage people to join this course. It’s a wonderful training to take part in and enrich one’s knowledge.

Sir, I want to join this course. I am a first year student at NIMCJ. I completed a course on copywriting and editing and also have a computer certificate. I was wondering if there are some additional things required before joining.
I have heard so much about this course and no doubt its one of the most demanded and popular course. Many students of the senior year have a certificate in this course. One of my seniors suggested me to join IIMSkills. I sent an email last week about a few questions regarding joining but I didn’t get any reply. I am not sure whether the mail reached or not.
So I thought about asking this here. It was the first article I read before joining the institute. I guess I missed a few classes. So do I wait till this training session ends and join in the next batch or will it be alright do join now?

Hello sir. My name is Shresta K. Ganguly. I liked how you explained this course in the article. I was a teacher, now retired. I was hoping to find a course like this, that could keep me engaged in my free time. If I could land a job as a freelancer it would be perfect then. I have a bit experience in this field. I once had a blog and I used to write every day. I haven’t practiced writing for a while. I searched courses like this and I looked through the institute list from above. But I took a liking to IIMSkills. I liked their course curriculum. And also they have courses on Udemy too. It’s a rather popular educational platform. I first heard about Udemy from my husband. Later on while I was searching for recognized top institutes, IIMSkills popped up. Udemy’s course fees are considerably low than any institute. And not just IIMSkills but also other institutes, as far as I have seen. I guess especially since the lockdown period. I don’t know particulars about these institutes. Can you tell me why there is such a huge difference?

Hi there. I am impressed by your article. For a while, I have considered taking this course but I wasn’t sure I could pull it myself. But after reading this article it motivated me a lot. Thank you for that. I wonder when I will be able to start this course. Many courses (I mean institutes) have been closed down and they are waiting when this situation will turn up for the better.
I have tried enrolling in two or three institutes for animation courses but the institutes were closed down. Are any of these institutes in the same condition? I don’t understand why when everything is going online the institutes are closing off. The shocking fact was one of the institutes that always provided online classes was also closed down.
I am a trainee painter at Gujrat University, Ahmedabad, second year student. I may be far off from writing thing but I love writing and reading books. If I can complete this course with flying color, then I would like to be a travel content writer. It’s always been my hobby. If I can turn this beautiful hobby into something more and gain a bit, then why not. But still curious to know if this course can help with anything in me being a painter? Can I relate to this course and painting course together? You must really be an amazing and knowledgeable person; can you tell me if I can add these two courses? I guess I didn’t quite ask you clearly, but I think you can understand what I am trying to say. The fact that anyone can enroll and they will be further supported by that institute really encouraged me.
Thank you so much. You just helped me to bring my hobby and to create something good.

Hi. I really liked your post. A few days ago I across an institute which offered this course and looked into it. They provided classes mostly on what writing was all about, and how to proofread and edit your content before publishing and so on. I looked through the FAQs and it wasn’t all that bad. But today when I read your blog, I came to know about a bundle of important information. I thought since it’s a writing course at the end of the day, all you need to do is focus on the writing path and that was it. Your article made it clear that there are technical internet stuff that one needs to know about. So many thanks for this article. I will go and start from scratch. I really found your article very informative. I have just started college, but due to this lockdown classes haven’t started yet. I heard about this content writing job and became curious about it. But due to this excitement, I didn’t look through institutes thoroughly. I would not want to burden you, but if you could suggest, which institute do you think would be the best? I am not completely comfortable handling the computer stuff, but I am learning that too, so if you think there are points that I should take note of, please reply back. And once again thanks a lot.

Good evening sir. Well copywriting and content writing are different but are they somehow related to content writing? In this training course can we also expect that the institutes will also provide classes on copywriting? If so it would be wonderful. I have been interested in both of these courses for a while. And I had a hard time picking out which one would be the best. There are many institutes on this course but not many good institutes on copywriting courses. As you have said earlier in this line of work, you have to continuously come up with new ideas, and it doesn’t matter only for copywriting. I also think this is true for content writing also. Whether you be a medical writer, technical writer or an educational writer it doesn’t matter much. You still need to write long articles and you have to differ from people who have already written articles on that particular topic. So I think both of the work are fun jobs. If one truly loves writing it won’t be a hassel for them. I am still not sure which course to join first. Let’s see. And this a a very good article by the way. Thanks for all the info.

Nice article. Hi good evening. I want to enroll in this course. I am a first year student at NID, Ahmedabad. I want to create my own blog about designing, and to do that I need to have the skills to write good articles in my blog. Well rather than good, the word attractive suits better. Since this is an all-rounder course I am very interested in this program. Specially since it’s online and it just takes a few months to learn. Online courses are so helpful. I can’t wait to start my first class. Many people enroll for this course and given the list here, I bet at least they will have more than twenty students a batch. So how do they conduct their classes? Are they one on one training or video lessons? Video lessons are so boring. I just can’t seem to keep my interest in it for long. since it has recorded videos, it feels less like a class. So first of all, please cut off all the institutes in this list that offers this type of classes and then give me a note of institutes that are either interactive or one on one training sessions. Sorry to trouble you. Waiting for your reply.

Thanks for this short and precise article. Many articles have ten to twelve list of institutes noted at their blog, and many times you may notice that people ask which institute they should join or what are the bloggers view about this, and etc. I clicked your article since it noted in all caps that the article had five list of institutes. It was good to know and a relief that I don’t have to go through the headache of choosing an institute or anything. I have already decided which institute to join and I can tell it’s going to be a wonderful experience. So much thanks to your article. I have never been a writer my entire life, I am maths teacher and I have always dealt with numbers more than letters. I was getting so bored and wanted to learn something new. When I saw that there were no age bars to join this course I immediately wanted to apply for this course. But is it like this for all of the online courses? Can anyone join an online training program? Or are there some exceptions? What course can I not apply in? I have been teaching for eight years till now. Can you tell me which courses are an exception?

Hello. Good evening sir. I am from South Bhopal, a second year university student in English. I am interested in this course and I would like to participate in this training program online. I knew about this course from a friend. Although she completed this course from a college, but I can already tell that there are many similar wonderful opportunities online too. I have come across so many wonderful sites and posts on this subject. I keep reading them and instead of just joining an institute I just scroll from article to article. now I can already tell that I have known all the names of the online institutes and this article also proved that for me. I have already read about this institutes in other articles too. But there’s a positive thing for this reading, it’s that you can instantly tell which institute is mostly talked about. It can help in deciding your final choice. I for one, found it very useful. Though it’s true that it takes quite a lot of your time. But also another positive thing is that you can have a clear idea about the subject. You won’t find it difficult to understand the topics later on, which I think is a good point.

Hello sir. Nice article. Very educative indeed. In the introduction you mentioned at some point that except for general writers there are certain type of writers who need to have a professional training or certificate to get a job. So what kind of job does a general writer does? Does it involve blogging and such? This point really had my attention. I don’t have much ideas about this different categories of writers, all I knew was to get a valid certificate in this training course to apply for jobs, be it freelancing or full time. Could you perhaps explain this point a bit? Aside from that I found your article very informative. Thanks for this article, really. I am a post graduate student, last year in computer science. I was hoping to explore different fields and look for further possibilities. I came across your post on linkedin. I am currently preparing for several exams, but I would like to complete this course. I was a bit confused at first which course to join in. I knew about a few but when I started exploring other fields I had so many options that I thought it was amazing. I hope I can join this course and learn a new skill.

I am a b.sc second year student from Ahmedabad. I was really all tensed up if I could join this course or not. I am in this field but I really like writing too. At first I was hoping to just enroll in an online writing course just to polish my writing skills a bit. But in an article I came across this course. I read about it and I was a bit interested as it stated that anyone can enroll. Then I came across your blog post and I am so excited that I decided to take a look at your article. I was so excited to see that anyone from medical field can also take part in this program and also incorporate this skill with their profession. Thanks for writing this amazing article. I heard a few online platforms on different online courses and not only on a particular one, so these institutes are new to me. But I am excited to learn more about them. I am hoping to join this course starting next month. Thanks so much once again. You did a wonderful job writing this article.

There have always been controversies between these two courses copywriting and content writing. Both these courses have high job opportunities and high pay values. I want to complete both of these courses. I am really intrigued in these courses. I have been interested in writing workshops and courses since I was in college. I am now employed at an IT sector. Though I don’t need any hand written skills for my job but I still wanted to enroll for this course. I have always wanted to and I got this chance to enroll online. I am looking forward to the course. it sure is a challenge to choose an institute and I can see why so many people have difficulty choosing an institute. But it sure is interesting. Someone suggested me an institute and I am looking to it but I am also interested in the first and fourth institute of this list. But it’s a well written article. Thanks, nice work.

Hello sir. I would like to join this course but I am already pretty occupied with the online classes and all so I want to know which institute can help me with flexible timings? So I can sign in when I am free. I will surely sign in regularly but doing it at a particular timing might be a little difficult. Do you think it is possible? I am interested in this course. And I want to do this training along with my study lessons. If I can complete this course I can think of trying to be a freelancer. Well that’s a long way to go. So what do you think about this? Could you tell me the institute best suited for me. And it should be a recognized site so that later when I say that I have completed a course from this institute it will mean something to them. I am looking forward to your answer and I hope that I can hear from you soon. Also it’s a nice article sir.

Hey. Nice article. Really. I had a wonderful time reading this article. I found this article quite satisfying to read and quite informative too. It won’t be too much to say that this is one of the best article that I have read on this course till now. I want to become a writer. I don’t care if I become a blogger or work at a magazine or at a company. Writing is my hobby and passion. I always write different types of stories, articles and features. Now I want to make this my profession. I would really thank you if you can help me achieve my dream. I have no idea online courses could provide so much opportunities. As here some people still don’t see online courses to be much of value. I also had doubts regarding the certification values, but I have read many reviews and after that I started to change my opinion. So it’s possible that I will have clouded judgment when it comes to select an institute so I would like you to suggest me an institute instead.
